Spam filter for relayed emails

1 December 2014

We've just added a spam filter to our mail server for relayed emails. Previously emails were only filtered based on point of origin, but now the contents will also be scanned.

This was made necessary by Gmail in particular becoming fussier about servers that relay emails containing spam and using that as a basis for restricting other 'non spam' emails.

Your emails should continue to arrive as before. In the mail headers you may see an extra notice that the contents have been scanned using "SpamAssassin".

If you do start to notice emails missing or anything else unusual please let us know right away. This applies to clients who's website emails are relayed through Chirp's mail server to a third-party inbox.
