Sussex Inlet Community Portal

23 November 2012

The Sussex Inlet Community website has been developed on behalf of the Sussex Inlet Chamber of Commerce by Australia G'day in partnership with Chirp Internet. Chirp have previous also developed the Hall and District Community website which was launched in 2009 and continues to grow in popularity.

Chirp and Australia G'day have a long history of developing websites for businesses and community organisations in rural and regional Australia dating back more than a decade, including for a number of businesses located in and around Sussex Inlet.

The Sussex Inlet web portal is designed to promote tourism and local business as well as to inform local residents of Chamber activities.

Its features include:

  • Latest News and Events database;
  • Local business directory featuring interactive maps;
  • Document register for Chamber Documents; and
  • Photo galleries.

Both the database and other sections of the website can be directly updated by the site administrators using a simple online content management system. The main navigation menu and site search option provide easy access to all content and the website itself has been optimised for speed and search engines.

Still to be completed is a Members Area that will allow local businesses and Chamber members to update their details in the online directory and a facility for accommodation providers to view and update a calendar of vacancies. The calendar will allow businesses to more efficiently redirect booking enquiries within the local area when their own facilities are full.

We look forward to helping the website evolve over coming years and hope to build and launch more community websites in the near future.
